St. Maarten is a fabulous spot to visit. It is surrounded with friendly people, beautiful beaches and great hidden niches. St. Maarten has two different sides, the Dutch side and the French side. It mixes European culture with American culture and is absolutely unique and breath-taking. St. Maarten is full of yachts making boats a popular travel experience to get there.

Now the first must in St. Maarten is a boat trip. St. Maarten itself is not only beautiful, but the islands which surround it are phenomenal. After doing a little research, I would recommend Anguilla for absolute beach lovers. Anguilla is just a short boat trip away and when you get there you will not believe your eyes. The sand is white and shimmers in the sun. The water is a gorgeous shade of light blue. The natural beauty of this place is unlike anything you have ever seen. However, for those of you who are not so big on the beach but love to shop, you will love St. Barths. St. Barths is full of fabulous shopping everywhere. It’s even a favorite of many celebrities.

Here is a website of a boat excursion group that you can check out to see the different types of boat trips you can take from St. Maarten, http://www.offshoresensations.com/english/index.html.

The next must is St. Maarten is visiting one of the most quiet and fabulous beaches. Baie Rouge is on the western side of the French St. Maarten. This beach is still pretty local and it’s peacefulness’ really gives you the relaxation you need while you’re there. For those of you who need a little activity, you are able to rent snorkeling gear from the local beach. You can then venture out and take a little private snorkeling trip and see some of the most beautiful fish in the world. You can view Anguilla from this beach as well. The sand is a combination of pink and white. It is softer than silk. The water at Baie Rouge is pretty calm, making it a great swim location as well.

Lastly, you must grab lunch on Baie Rouge beach. A little local beach bar offers great and affordable lunch! I would recommend the chicken sandwich on the French baguette, it is to die for. Baie Rouge is the perfect place to spend an entire day doing absolutely nothing except indulging in the scenery around you.
